We are coming to the end of the first quarter of our third year. There are so many new things being accomplished by the wonderful and excellent staff and faculty that God has given us.
One of the most important emphasis of this quarter has been ministry mindedness. This contrasts us to other educational systems that focus on business quota. Our school is a ministry, not a business and our focus is on ministering the character of Christ to every child’s individual need.
Another important emphasis is the diligent teaching on servant hood. The Lord is encouraging the students to good works. Placing (J)esus first, (O)thers second and (Y)ourself third is the fullness of JOY.
We look forward to continued excellence in Richmond Academy’s ministry to its families.

Families interested in Richmond Academy with a financial need should speak to their church's board members and ask for help.

Twelve Ways to Pray for Your Child
Pray:
That nothing will hinder your child from accepting Christ as his personal savior early in life. (Matthew 19:14)
That your child will learn to know the true and living God and have a deep desire to do God’s will all his life. (Psalm 119:26, 30, 34 –35)
That, as your child hears stories from the Bible, a love for God and His Word develops and becomes the basis for his entire decision making. (Ecclesiastes 12:1; Psalm 71:17)
That your child will develop a keen sense of what is right and wrong and will abhor evil and cling to that which is good. (Romans 12:9; Psalm 139:23-24; 51:10)
For your child’s total development: an increase in wisdom (mentally), in stature (physically) and in favor with God (spiritually) and man (socially). (Luke 2:52)
That God will create in your child a thankful heart and positive mental attitude. (Psalm 126:2-3; Romans 8:31)
That God will protect your child from Satan in every area of life. (John 17:15; Psalm 121)
That God would reveal the tendencies to sin in your child and enable him to overcome them before they become sinful habits. (Psalm 120:2; 119:133; I John 1:8-9)
That God would make your child successful in the work God has planned for him to do. (Psalm 118:25;139: 9-10; Ephesians 2:10)
That your child will have and value a strong sense of belonging to a family that is loving and dwells together in unity. (Psalm 133; Colossians 3:12-14)
That your child will respect those in authority over him. (Romans 13:1; Ephesians 7:1-4)
That your child’s entire life will be a testimony of the greatness and love of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 2:15-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
Suggestion: Pray for one request each day for a month
Elephants
by Lauren Wicker
I chose the elephant because they are amazing creatures and wonderful animals. I know what they look like and I also know how to tell them apart. There is the African elephant and the Asian elephant. The African elephant has huge ears and the Asian Elephant has tiny ears. Elephants are the largest land animals. The African elephant lives on the savanna and the forests of Africa. They are bigger than the Asian. The Asian elephant has a lumpy forehead. The elephant’s tusks are actually teeth. Those teeth are made of ivory. They use their tusks for digging up roots, peeling bark, and as weapons. Their trunk is made up of its nose. They use there trunks to suck up water, pick leaves, and smell. The trunk is very powerful and so strong that they can uproot a tree. They live in groups, the females and their young and the males either by themselves or with a group of males. Did you know that elephants could swim? Elephants also protect their young from danger. That is why I chose the elephant.
The Wolves
by Abby O’Neal
The wolf is my animal. The wolves live in Canada and all over the U.S.A. The wolves love to eat elk. They also eat rabbit and anything else they can catch. Something special about the wolf is that all dogs, even poodles are descendents of the wolf. The wolf is very protective. They have many large teeth and claws to protect themselves with. I picked the wolf as my animal because they are cool and are also very special dogs.
