We are coming to the end of the first quarter of our second year. There are so many new things being accomplished by the wonderful and excellent staff and faculty that God has given us.
One of the most important emphasis of this quarter has been learning how to hear the heart of a child and not limiting our responses to the child’s behavior. This contrasts us to other educational systems that focus on behavior modification. Our school is a ministry, not a business. The Lord is encouraging the students to good works.
Another important emphasis is the diligent teaching on organization in note taking and study skills. Many students struggle never being taught these basic life skills. The teaching is making a world of difference in students’ grades.
We look forward to continued excellence in Richmond Academy’s ministry to its families.

Richmond Academy is receiving enrollment of new students. Call the office at 765-962-7677 to receive an application packet for your child.
At this time, we offer multi-student discounts for all families. We can also offer up to a 5% discount based on financial need. Beyond this, most churches understand the importance of their children getting a private Christian education and will help. Families interested in Richmond Academy with a financial need should speak to their church's board members and ask for help.
If you are interested in sending your student to Richmond Academy, it is important to remember that it takes two weeks to receive your child’s books. Register in plenty of time to ensure that your child will have books for their first day of school.

Twelve Ways to Pray for Your Child
Pray:
That nothing will hinder your child from accepting Christ as his personal savior early in life. (Matthew 19:14)
That your child will learn to know the true and living God and have a deep desire to do God’s will all his life. (Psalm 119:26, 30, 34 –35)
That, as your child hears stories from the Bible, a love for God and His Word develops and becomes the basis for his entire decision making. (Ecclesiastes 12:1; Psalm 71:17)
That your child will develop a keen sense of what is right and wrong and will abhor evil and cling to that which is good. (Romans 12:9; Psalm 139:23-24; 51:10)
For your child’s total development: an increase in wisdom (mentally), in stature (physically) and in favor with God (spiritually) and man (socially). (Luke 2:52)
That God will create in your child a thankful heart and positive mental attitude. (Psalm 126:2-3; Romans 8:31)
That God will protect your child from Satan in every area of life. (John 17:15; Psalm 121)
That God would reveal the tendencies to sin in your child and enable him to overcome them before they become sinful habits. (Psalm 120:2; 119:133; I John 1:8-9)
That God would make your child successful in the work God has planned for him to do. (Psalm 118:25;139: 9-10; Ephesians 2:10)
That your child will have and value a strong sense of belonging to a family that is loving and dwells together in unity. (Psalm 133; Colossians 3:12-14)
That your child will respect those in authority over him. (Romans 13:1; Ephesians 7:1-4)
That your child’s entire life will be a testimony of the greatness and love of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 2:15-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
Suggestion: Pray for one request each day for a month
An Underwater Symphony
An underwater symphony,
What a glorious thing to see.
An underwater symphony,
It will fill your hearts with glee.
An underwater
symphony,
Like a band in the zoo.
An underwater symphony,
You wish you could go too.
An underwater symphony,
The flute as graceful as a rose.
An underwater symphony,
In the stream the music flows.
An underwater symphony,
Just let the music blend.
An underwater symphony,
Now it is the end.

Ginger Pye
Ginger Pye, by Eleanor Estes, is about an intelligent puppy that is kidnapped by an unknown character. Set in the city of Cranburry, Jerry Pye, a ten year old boy, wants nothing more than a dog. When his wish comes true, Jerry feels like the luckiest boy on earth. He feels like nothing would happen to his puppy, Ginger, until some one steals him. Throughout this story, one can learn that if one never looses hope, then one can achieve much.
In this story, Jerry has to find his stolen puppy with only one clue, a strange yellow hat. After Jerry has bought his puppy with a dollar earned from dusting the church, he and his sister, Rachael, saw a strange yellow hat and heard footsteps following them. After a few months, they forgot all about the yellow hat, until Thanksgiving, when Ginger mysteriously disappeared. Jerry and Rachael went every where in Cranburry, even to the very outskirts. They had almost given up hope when Easter finally came around. When they came home from another walk through Cranburry, they found Ginger in their yard with their Uncle Bennie, who had found him. In the end, all of the Pye’s were happy that Ginger was back, although no one was happier than Jerry.
The importance of never giving up hope can be learned from reading Ginger Pye. If one gives up hope, then one will never achieve any thing. Although I do not like dogs a lot, this story was very enjoyable. I liked the way it never told who the thief was until the very end. I also enjoyed the story telling about the Pye’s past a lot. Ginger Pye is a story that any dog lover or anyone who likes small mysteries would enjoy.
