New Christian School Offers Advanced Kindergartens

Richmond, IN – Richmond’s new private Christian school is offering advanced kindergartens.

“Richmond Academy offers more that just a preschool for four year olds and a kindergarten for five year olds,” said the Dr. S. Chad Ross, headmaster of the new school. “We offer kindergarten for both ages giving children an extra edge in preparing them for elementary school.”

Ross said that Richmond Academy’s kindergarten programs teach students to read with phonics and write in cursive.

“Richmond Academy’s philosophy on phonics and cursive comes down to consistency and quality,” said Ross. “Students should not be taught one way to read and write and then unlearn that practice two or three years later. Learning correctly from the beginning gives students long term quality reading and writing abilities.”

Ross said that the school is an independent institution not directly affiliated with any church. “We are community supported.”

"This year, we have found a lot of interest among parents. This indicates a definite need," Ross said. "Our goal is to offer an environment that is dedicated to nurturing and challenging the whole person - body, mind and spirit - to the glory of God."

Dr. Ross’ vision for Richmond Academy is that God would make every provision for every family desiring a private Christian education and that God would provide academic assistance to home school families.

“Richmond Academy’s purpose is to nurture and develop the whole student – not just to educate young people for college; rather, we are preparing them for life,” Ross said. “We are a partnership of home and school, working together for the purpose of preparing students academically, spiritually and emotionally for the challenge of life.”

Richmond Academy is at 2000 West Main Street, Suite B. The school offers classes from k4 through grade 12. For more information on admissions or employment, call (765) 962-7677, visit www.richmondacademy.org.
